Shared mission, shared values – how it all started


At Mart’s Bags, we have always prioritized ecology, quality, and collaboration with brands that, like us, strive to make the world a better place. Therefore, the collaboration with The Body Shop was a unique opportunity for us to create products that not only serve a functional purpose but also align with our mission of environmental protection and sustainable development.

The Body Shop, founded by Anita Roddick, has long inspired with its activities, showing that business can be a force for good. This brand, known for its natural and ethical cosmetics, takes actions aimed at protecting the planet and improving the quality of life for communities worldwide. By creating vegan and vegetarian products and conducting campaigns for social justice, The Body Shop proves that cosmetics can be more than just skincare – they can change the world.

When they approached us with the need to create cotton bags and pouches, we knew it would be a project full of passion and shared values.

Expectations that we turned into success


The goal of The Body Shop was to design and produce eco-friendly cotton bags and smaller pouches that would perfectly align with their philosophy and serve customers as functional yet aesthetic accessories. An important element was also the desire to stand out – the bag was to feature an illustration created specifically for the brand by the talented illustrator Pola Augustynowicz.

From the beginning, the project was inspired by large summer bag models that evoke vacations, freedom, and nature. It was crucial for the products to be made from organic cotton, which perfectly aligned with The Body Shop's ethical approach to production and their care for the natural environment.

Our solution – eco-friendly bags with character


We proposed to The Body Shop's design team a large, flat bag with a bottom, modeled after our iconic TM16 design. The chosen material is 310 g organic cotton, which is both durable and eco-friendly. This decision stemmed from the desire to create high-quality products that will serve users for a long time while also being planet-friendly.

Moreover, we opted for DTT printing, which allows for precise rendering of Pola Augustynowicz's unique illustration. As a result, the bag became not only a practical accessory but also a small work of art that perfectly fits The Body Shop's artistic style.

To ensure the highest quality of workmanship, the bag was stitched from two pieces of material. This construction allowed for a perfect fit of the print, which is particularly important with such precise graphics.

The smaller cotton pouches we designed were also made using the same method.

Their function? Ideal for storing small cosmetics and handy products, while also fitting perfectly into the zero waste concept – they can be reused multiple times, eliminating the need for plastic packaging.

Effects of collaboration – bags that change the world

The result of our collaboration with The Body Shop is bags and pouches that not only look great but also have a significant impact on the world around us. By creating these products, we managed to combine aesthetics with functionality and ecology, all in the spirit of shared values – caring for the environment and fighting for a better future.

Each bag and pouch is a step towards a more sustainable lifestyle – both for The Body Shop and their customers. These products perfectly align with their philosophy, demonstrating that small everyday choices can make a big difference.
