When Art Meets Functionality - Mart’s Bags at the Kontakt International Theatre Festival
Culture is a space where every form of expression matters - from costumes and stage design to… a cotton bag. Surprising? And yet, it’s true! During the 29th Kontakt International Theatre Festival, organized by the Horzyca Theatre in Toruń, our bags became an integral part of the event - not just as practical accessories, but also as carriers of ideas, community, and communication.
A Festival That Connects Europe and Emotions
The Kontakt International Theatre Festival is not only a celebration of performing arts but also a space for exchanging ideas, experiences, and energy. At this year’s edition, alongside performances from around the world, a special accompanying event took place: the Theatre Forum for Communication and Promotion. For three days, Toruń hosted representatives from nearly 40 theatres across Poland, who came together to discuss best practices in building relationships with audiences.
And this is precisely where our bags took the stage - both literally and figuratively.
A Bag That Says: “We Are Together”
Designed specifically for this occasion, the TM20 bag model, made from high-quality 260 g Panama cotton, was adorned with a screen-printed design. It is not just a practical accessory for documents, notes, or theatre programs - it is also a symbol: a cohesive, aesthetic, and durable form that unites event participants and fosters a sense of community.
It is no coincidence that our bags appeared at the Communication Forum. After all, every bag… communicates. Color, shape, craftsmanship, and above all, a thoughtfully designed print - all of this becomes part of the event’s narrative.
Why Bags at Cultural Events Are a Perfect Choice
Cotton bags are increasingly accompanying cultural events - not only as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic packaging, but also as a part of visual identity and a practical gift.
At the Kontakt Festival, the bags served several functions simultaneously:
- Promotional – carrying the event and Horzyca Theatre branding.
- Integrative – participants at the Forum could easily recognize each other.
- Practical – holding everything needed for active participation in intensive panels and workshops.
This is precisely the type of “silent hero” that works behind the scenes, yet its absence would be immediately noticeable.
Functional Art at Its Finest
As a producer of personalized bags, we know that culture needs carriers—and we don’t just mean posters. Every detail of an event shapes its atmosphere. That’s why we are proud to have been part of this exceptional initiative. The TM20 bag was present where ideas were born, connections were made, and new strategies for theatre promotion in Poland were developed.
For us, this is not just another project—it is a story of how art can merge with design and functionality, creating something more than a mere object.
