One Visual Language, Different Materials
A strong visual identity does not begin with a logo. It begins with a language of forms, colors and proportions that remains recognizable across different materials.
This is the foundation of VOYAGE — the collection of wool rugs and kilims designed by Malwina Konopacka for Carpets & More. It is also the idea behind the custom cotton bags produced for the project by Mart’s Bags.
The bags are not promotional objects decorated with a borrowed graphic. They are another carefully considered surface for Konopacka’s distinctive visual world.
A visual language built from line, rhythm and color
Malwina Konopacka is known for expressive drawing, simplified forms and compositions that combine modernist discipline with the freedom of a hand-drawn line. Her work is immediately recognizable: bold contours meet circles, irregular shapes and carefully placed color accents.
Motifs associated with her ceramic families — including OKO, NANA and IRENA — became the starting point for VOYAGE. In collaboration with Carpets & More, these forms were interpreted through the texture, scale and construction of rugs and kilims.
Changing the material changes the experience of the design. A line drawn on ceramic behaves differently when it is woven in wool. A compact motif becomes a large composition that influences the character of an entire room. What remains constant is the relationship between shape, rhythm and color.
In 2026, VOYAGE received the Red Dot Design Award and became the first Polish rug collection recognized by the Red Dot jury. The distinction confirmed the strength of a project in which artistic expression, material quality and everyday function form one coherent whole.
Two bags, two interpretations of the same idea
The bags produced by Mart’s Bags translate this visual language into cotton and print. Two color versions reveal different aspects of the same idea.
The red bag is built around a large graphic eye. An off-white field, a blue circle and smaller contrasting dots create a clear, energetic composition.
The royal blue version has a different rhythm. Its pale pink central form is filled with freely drawn dark blue lines and surrounded by accents in red, grey and light blue. It feels softer and more abstract, yet clearly belongs to the same artistic universe.
The generous shopper format gives both compositions room to breathe. Its broad front panel acts like a textile canvas, while the red or royal blue fabric becomes an active part of the artwork. The patterns respond to the proportions, seams and natural folds of the bags rather than appearing as graphics added to a ready-made product.
Design instead of simple logo placement
The strongest branded bags communicate through more than a logo.
For VOYAGE, recognition comes from Konopacka’s line, palette and compositional rhythm.
The collaboration signature is present, but the pattern speaks first.
This makes the bags feel like a natural part of the collection. Ceramics, rugs and cotton shoppers have different functions and material qualities, yet they belong together because they share the same visual DNA.
Malwina Konopacka created an unmistakable artistic language. Carpets & More interpreted it through wool and craftsmanship. Mart’s Bags translated it into functional cotton shoppers without losing the strength of the original forms.
